Very soon Cracovians will be celebrating the shortest night in the year called Midsummer Eve (Noc Świętojańska). For this occasion there is organised a Midsummer Market (Jarmark Świętojański) that will last from Friday till Sunday (15-17th June) on the Market Square. And it will give you a feeling of a travel into the middle ages. As it happened in the past – merchants, comedians and craftsmen will arrive to the city to present their artwork. Workshops, performances and tasting of traditional dishes – everyone can find something for themselves. You can see the detailed programme here: http://jarmarkswietojanski.eu/program
And on 23rd of July – Wianki. The Wianki is a huge, open-air event related to the Slavic tradition of Midsummer Eve – the night full of spells and magic. If you feel like listen to some concerts, watch fireworks and other open-air spectacles – you should definitely take a walk to Bulwary Wiślane under the Wawel castle those days.
Market Squere will become a home to jazz, hip-hop and r’nb. Different kind of Polish music will be presented in various corners of Kraków. The Wianki is an event that takes over the whole city! And all the events are open and for free. Plan of the concerts you can check out here: https://www.facebook.com/Wianki/
